It exists mostly&#xA;so that the services I care about answer to a name I control.&lt;/p&gt;&#xA;&lt;h2 id=&#34;what-runs-here&#34;&gt;What runs here&lt;/h2&gt;&#xA;&lt;ul&gt;&#xA;&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Matrix&lt;/strong&gt; — a homeserver at &lt;code&gt;matrix.eriador.me.uk&lt;/code&gt;, so my chat is mine.&lt;/li&gt;&#xA;&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Pocket ID&lt;/strong&gt; — an OpenID Connect provider at &lt;code&gt;id.eriador.me.uk&lt;/code&gt;, which signs&#xA;me in to everything else.&lt;/li&gt;&#xA;&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;This site&lt;/strong&gt; — a static build, published straight from the repository.&lt;/li&gt;&#xA;&lt;/ul&gt;&#xA;&lt;h2 id=&#34;the-name&#34;&gt;The name&lt;/h2&gt;&#xA;&lt;p&gt;Eriador is the wide, mostly empty country west of the Misty Mountains: old&#xA;roads, scattered settlements, and not much central authority. It seemed a fair&#xA;description of running your own infrastructure.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
